A Story Close to Home
Patricia Chesney never planned to become an author–but one quiet walk in the park with her dog, Rosie, changed everything. While recovering from breast cancer, Patricia often walked Rosie at her local park, listening to the Rosary. At 57, she found herself wondering why she was only just discovering the depth, beauty, and power of this prayer.
That moment sparked a passion: to help young Catholics learn about their faith early, in a way that is joyful, engaging, and easy to understand. Rosie and the Rosary is her very first book, born out of her desire to give children a gift she wishes she had received sooner.
Through Rosie, a lovable sheepadoodle rescue, Patricia invites families to experience the Rosary as something more than memorized words–it’s a powerful prayer of love, comfort, and hope.
When she’s not writing, Patricia enjoys traveling with her husband Don, spending time with her family, running a small business, walking Rosie, and sharing her faith. She has also enjoyed the journey of writing this book and creating a resource that she hopes will help families pray together. She hopes Rosie and the Rosary is the first of many adventures for Rosie, leading children toward a lifelong friendship with God.
